Washington County Jail Roster PDF
The official current-custody source is the Washington County Adult Inmate Roster Report PDF. It is free, public, and does not require a login. It is also limited. The roster does not show mugshots, charge detail, bond, housing unit, court date, or a click-through inmate profile. It lists active inmates and gives compact identifiers that can be used with other county records.
The roster is maintained for people in custody at Washington County Jail. It does not search MCF-Stillwater, MCF-Oak Park Heights, federal BOP custody, or ICE custody. That distinction matters in Washington County because two Minnesota DOC prisons are physically inside the county but are not county jail facilities. People sentenced to DOC custody must be searched through the statewide DOC locator after processing.
Search Washington County Inmates
The roster is a PDF list, so searching works like searching a document. Use the exact spelling when possible. If the name is common, compare the booking date, booking number, and JID. If a person was just arrested, the daily booking report may show the arrest before the active roster is refreshed or before the user notices the new line in the PDF.
- Open the Adult Inmate Roster Report PDF from the county website.
- Use the browser or PDF find command and search the last name first.
- Review first name, middle initial, JID, booking date, booking number, release estimate, and days confined.
- Open the daily booking report when charge, arresting agency, hold, or arrest-location detail is needed.
- Call Washington County Jail at 651-430-7900 when the PDF does not match court, bond, or family information.
Roster limit: A missing name does not prove the person was never booked. It may mean release, transfer, delayed posting, alternate spelling, or another custody system.
Washington County Roster Fields

Washington County Inmate Profile Fields
The active roster is a current list rather than a full inmate profile. It confirms that a person is in jail custody at the time shown by the report and gives identifiers for follow-up. It does not answer every family, bond, or court question. The daily booking reports fill some of those gaps, especially for charge descriptions and arrest timing.
| Field | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Name | Last name, first name, and sometimes middle initial. |
| JID | Washington County jail identification number. |
| Booking number | Number tied to the specific jail booking. |
| Booking date | Date the jail booking was created. |
| Release estimate | A projected or blank field that must be verified with the jail. |
| Days confined | Length of stay as of the roster timestamp. |
| Mugshot, bond, housing, charges | Not shown in the active roster PDF inspected for research. |
Washington County Booking Records
The Daily Jail Booking Report is the better source for new bookings and arrest details. The index links to Sunday through Saturday PDFs. The sample daily report showed a 7 a.m. to 7 a.m. window, total count, booking number, age, name, arrest date and time, release date and time when present, booking type, arresting officer, arrest location, hold deadlines, and charge entries. Booking types included bench warrant, pending charge or investigation, hold for another agency, and under sentence.
These details can help match a booking to court records, especially where a person has a common name. They can also reveal why a name is on the roster, such as a warrant, local sentence, pending investigation, or agency hold. The daily booking report still does not replace a court complaint or disposition. It is a jail intake record.
The county's booking report index is organized by day of week.
The day-of-week format makes recent booking research different from a typical name-search jail portal.
Washington County Jail Contact
The jail phone line is the official fallback when the roster PDF, booking PDFs, or records request channels do not answer a custody question. Phone staff may be limited by privacy rules, court orders, medical privacy, or data classifications, but the jail is the right place to confirm current custody, visiting status, and release-process timing.

Request Washington County Jail Records
Published inmate records do not include every public field. For a report copy, booking record, arrest data, or other law-enforcement public data, use the Sheriff's Office records channels. The Request a Report page links to NextRequest and gives the in-person option. The Law Enforcement Public Data page says to contact the Records Unit at 651-430-7600 for report-copy or incident questions. The booking report page routes Washington County Sheriff's arrest or detention data questions to 651-430-7900.
The Sheriff's report request page documents the official online and in-person request path.
Providing the JID, booking number, arrest date, and agency helps the records unit identify the correct jail record.
Washington County Jail Visiting Records
Visiting information is part of the inmate-information workflow because a roster match often leads to a visit, phone, mail, or commissary question. Washington County says in-person visitors must be on the inmate's visiting list, but the jail cannot disclose whether a person is on that list because of data privacy. Visitors need a valid government photo ID with date of birth and must pass a metal detector. Visitors with warrants are taken into custody.
| Visit type | Schedule or cost | Rules |

| In person | Friday-Monday, 6-10 p.m.; Saturday-Sunday, 8:30-10:30 a.m. | Must be on the inmate's list; call 651-430-7900 to confirm visiting is not canceled. |
| Family and children priority | Saturday-Sunday, 8:30-10:30 a.m. and 6-10 p.m. | Minor children must be listed and cannot be left unattended. |

Washington County Inmate Services
The Inmate Information page is the main county source for bail, visits, mail, email, photos, canteen money, phone accounts, medical drop-off, property, release, and booking-fee reimbursement. Mail must use the inmate's full name and the Washington County Jail mailing address. Mail is opened and inspected, then scanned and delivered electronically to inmates. Legal mail is inspected in the inmate's presence.
Washington County's inmate-information page brings together jail service rules and payment details.
Those rules are separate from the roster, but they often explain why a family member needs the booking number or exact custody status.
| Service | Vendor or location | Fee or limit |
|---|---|---|
| Email, SMS, photos | InmateCanteen.com | Email/SMS $0.16; picture mail $0.32; reviewed by Jail Administration. |
| Commissary deposits | Jail lobby kiosk or InmateCanteen | Individual deposits limited to $300 every 14 days; fee may apply. |
| Turnkey kiosk | Jail lobby | Cash fee $2; credit-card fee $8.95 per transaction. |
| Internet deposit | Inmate Canteen | $8.95 fee. |
Washington County Locator Fallbacks
If a Washington County inmate record is not on the active roster, check the custody system that fits the case. The Minnesota DOC locator covers adults committed to the Commissioner of Corrections and still under DOC jurisdiction. Newly sentenced people may take several business days to appear. Minnesota Haven custody-status notification is linked from the DOC locator path. Federal sentenced custody uses the BOP locator, while immigration detention uses ICE ODLS. No current official Washington County, Minnesota sheriff mobile app listing was found in the research, so no app-only roster should be cited.
| Need | Use | Scope |
|---|---|---|
| Sentenced state prisoner | Minnesota DOC Locator | Prison and supervised-release records under DOC jurisdiction. |
| Federal prisoner | BOP Inmate Locator | BOP custody and releases since 1982. |
| Immigration detainee | ICE ODLS | ICE detention, searched by A-Number or biographical data. |
| Court case after arrest | Court records after jail arrest | Charges, hearings, warrants, dispositions, and filings. |
